Chicken
Soup Publisher Takes Prominent Award for Visionary Fiction Title
DENVER,
CO -- A first-time novelist from the San Francisco Bay Area has
won the Visionary Award for Fiction. The award, given annually by
the Coalition for Visionary Retailers (COVR), was presented on June
23 in Denver to author Alexis Masters for The Giuliana Legacy,
a rare fiction offering from HCI, publisher of the best-selling
Chicken Soup For the Soul series.
The
Giuliana Legacy chronicles the awakening of a contemporary woman
to her soul's true purpose and passion. It is a love story, a mystery
and the saga of an ancient spiritual lineage. Drawing on both Eastern
and Western mystical traditions, The Giuliana Legacy offers
an inspirational glimpse into these realms and a comfortable introduction
to visionary fiction for readers not familiar with much beyond the
Judeo-Christian worldview. With its vibrant blend of spirituality
and drama set in the enchanting hills of Tuscany, this book has
broad appeal to readers of all ages, including those who are curious
about alternative spiritual paths, Italophiles and lovers of all
things Tuscan, and readers of Jungian psychology, Goddess history,
metaphysics, and romance.
The
award winning novel has received excellent reviews:
- "I
have not read a novel that captivated me this way since The
Mists of Avalon." --Michael Peter Langevin, Magical Blend
- "Readers
will enjoy Masters' imaginative evocation of a spiritual lineage..."
--Publishers Weekly
- "In
the epic style of Marion Zimmer Bradley's classic The Mists
of Avalon and Starhawk's The Fifth Sacred Thing, Master's
dramatic tale fields an intriguing cast of characters, with the
evocative settings of Tuscany, Cyprus, and the ancient Mediterranean
as its backdrop..." --Maya Trace Borhani, Napra Review
- "The
Giuliana Legacy is at once a triumphant tale of spiritual
unfoldment, a mystery novel, and a love story... In all, this
a good story, well told, which transcends the new genre it celebrates..."
--Carol Powell, Reviews Editor, VisionaryFiction.com
- "I
love a good novel that keeps me up nights, not wanting to put
the book down! The Giuliana Legacy did that for me..."
--Marie T. Russell, Publisher, Inner Self Magazine
